Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts from across Indiana will convene at Indiana Government Center South on April 21, 2020 for Girl Scout Day at the Statehouse. More than 100 Girl Scouts from Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana, Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana, and Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana will spend the day in the Government Center south for a brand new, conference style day taking a look at the inside of our State Government and celebrating the women's suffrage centennial anniversary by participating in workshops throughout the day and hearing from female leaders of our government.

Highlights of the day will include remarks from Girl Scouts of Central Indiana’s Chief Executive Officer Danielle Shockey.

Girl Scouts will also get the opportunity to choose their own adventure throughout the day by attending the workshops of their choice, completing badge requirements for civic badges, completing requirements for the I Promised a Girl Scout I Would Vote patch, and much more. In addition, Girl Scouts of Central Indiana has secured program partners to include fun and interactive programming throughout the day. Some of these partners include the Secretary of State's office, the Education Center inside the Indiana State Library, Women4Change, Girl Scouts of Central Indiana Archives, Indiana Historical Society, League of Women Voters, and student groups from IUPUI and UIndy.

Overnight accommodations at the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana camps will be offered to those traveling in.

Ninety percent of Americans believe out-of-school programs like Girl Scouts play an important role in helping girls succeed. Girl Scouts from across the state are reinforcing this belief by encouraging our state leaders to interact with the next generation of leaders at Girl Scout Day at the Statehouse.

Note: Adult supervision will be provided by the council. Parents are not required to stay but will be required to bring their girl(s) in for check-in and to also sign them out at the end of the day. If adults would like to stay for the day, we will have an adult session available and will ask that all adults attend the adult sessions offered.

Attire for the day: Girls should dress their best during this all day event. Business attire preferred with vest/sash. No blue jeans, sleeveless tops, midriff shirts, or tennis shoes. Attire should be business style with comfortable dress shoes for walking.

Girl registration fee includes program activities, snack, and a patch. Lunch will  be on your own, but there will be nearby lunch options available for purchase. These options will be sent out at a later date.
