Join Girl Scouts of Central Indiana and Donate Life via Zoom to earn the new Donate Life patch virtually! This is a great opportunity for a Girl Scout and her family to get involved together! A link to the call will be emailed to you a couple of day before the event.

Preparation before the scheduled webinar:
• Locate a small, clean straw such as one you would use to stir coffee or tea, or a drinking straw like one from a restaurant.
• Find an old pair of sunglasses. Because you will be scratching the lenses, make sure that is okay!
• Scratch up the outside of the lenses by rubbing the outside with sandpaper, a dish scratcher or something that can buff the lenses. Alternatively, put several layers of frosted scotch tape over the lenses. Scratch them until objects appear blurry when wearing the sunglasses. Note: If you do not have some or all of these materials, you can still participate!
• Write down at least one question you have about organ donation and transplantation.
• Be sure your troop leader has shared the ZOOM virtual webinar link.
 

Webinar details:
• Bring the straw, blurry sunglasses and question(s) to the scheduled webinar. Be prepared to interact and
participate!
• Using the link sent by your troop leader, join the webinar by clicking on the link from a computer, tablet or handheld device on the scheduled date and time. We recommend joining the webinar from a device that has a camera so that we can better engage with you.
• The webinar will last around 20-30 minutes including hands-on activities, a real-life or video story from a Hoosier recipient or donor family member, and time for questions.
• Scouts will get to see a real preserved pig organ and other organ models, as well as real tissue samples and other tissue models.
• Girl Scouts will learn how they can earn a Donate Life patch.
